Operational Handbooks Update

emailed 9/17/12 to edTPA coordinators from Pearson

Dear edTPA Coordinator,

We are pleased to announce the first release of edTPA 2012-2013 Operational Handbooks from the Stanford Center for Assessment, Learning, and Equity (SCALE) for authorized users at institutions participating in edTPATM at the exploratory level or above.

The following subject areas (National and Washington versions) are available now:
Elementary Mathematics
Elementary Literacy
Secondary English-Language Arts
Secondary Mathematics
Secondary Science
Secondary History/Social Studies

Handbooks for additional subject areas will be released in the coming weeks as they become available.

Access is being provided now to enable you and your program faculty to prepare for Operational launch in January 2013. Templates will be available at that time.
Please note: These handbooks are not for Fall 2012 Field Test use.

**NOTE that the distribution process has changed from the Field Test. Please follow these steps.
  1. Read the following edTPA Coordinator Distribution Guidelines:
  • I understand that upon agreement to follow these guidelines and acceptance of the terms of an online disclosure agreement, I will be provided a secure password to access the handbooks from edTPA
  • I will provide faculty members at my institution the password so that they may access the material directly from edTPA upon their acceptance of the terms of an online nondisclosure agreement and they may distribute handbooks to candidates.
  • I will not copy the handbooks for distribution.
